Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as the head of the Department of the Interior (DOI) in a bipartisan vote. U.S. Senator Mike Lee, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, expressed his support for Burgum's confirmation.

Senator Lee stated, "Governor Burgum’s confirmation today is a win for our public lands and a win for American energy. He has spent his career bringing people together to solve problems and earned the trust of tribes, businesses, conservationists, and working families alike." He further emphasized that Burgum understands the limitations of regulation in achieving prosperity.

Lee also conveyed confidence in Burgum's leadership at DOI, stating that it will act "in the best interest of the American people."

The confirmation marks a significant step in filling key positions within President Trump's administration.
