Harriet Hageman proposes legislation on expedited appeals and federal land management

Rep. Harriet Hageman, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Wyoming’s at-large district since 2023, shared several statements via social media on various topics recently. Her posts cover legislative initiatives and historical reflections.

On January 26, Rep. Hageman announced her reintroduction of the Expedited Appeals Review Act. The proposed legislation aims to provide applicants the option to move their cases to district court if the Interior Board of Land Appeals (IBLA) does not decide within 18 months. On January 29, Rep. Hageman introduced another legislative proposal called the No Net Gain in Federal Lands Act. This act seeks to restrict federal land expansion by requiring that any new land acquired by agencies such as USDA and DOI be offset by returning an equivalent amount of acreage to state control.
