The City of Arlington invites community members and media to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Active Adult Center. The ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.

The voter-approved facility will be located on the southwest corner of the current Pierce Burch Water Treatment site. Ceremony guests are encouraged to park along Woodland Park Boulevard near the intersection of Woodland Park Boulevard and Lakewood Drive.

The event will include remarks from Mayor Jim Ross and Parks and Recreation Director James Orloski.

The Active Adult Center is expected to open in winter 2024 and will offer a range of programs and amenities for our active adult population, ages 50 and up. Community input is currently being collected on the naming of the facility through Wednesday, Jan. 11. Click here to learn more about submitting a suggested name for the facility.
