City of Boulder recently issued the following announcement.
It is nice to have someone else clean your carpets while showing you their carpet cleaner or offer pest control and lawn care service, which all may have been things on your uncontrollably long to-do list. Likewise, it's nice to learn about new products or services. However, we urge you to be cautious when opening your door to a stranger. First, ask if they have a city-issued badge.
The City of Bondurant requires solicitors to be licensed. The person traveling door to door will report details about their services or products, along with criminal and driving records reports along with their licensing application. The City cares about your safety. Therefore, we encourage you to ask those knocking on your door to display their badge.
If they do not have a badge, report unlicensed solicitors after they exit the premises by contacting the non-emergency number of the Polk County Sheriff's Department at 286-3333.
