WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, recently delivered remarks during a full committee hearing to consider nominations to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Senator Barrasso expressed his support for the nominees, highlighting their qualifications and potential contributions to the Commission. Regarding Lindsay S. See, Senator Barrasso commended her legal background and dedication to advocating for affordable and reliable energy for American families. He stated, “Ms. See is well positioned to ensure that the Commission faithfully adheres to its statutory mandate.”
Senator Barrasso also praised David Rosner's familiarity with FERC's responsibilities, noting his direct experience as an energy industry analyst at the Commission. In addition, he acknowledged Judy W. Chang's advocacy for clean energy transition but expressed concerns about her past statements regarding natural gas policies in Massachusetts.
Senator Barrasso emphasized the importance of appointing individuals who will prioritize the nation's energy needs over potentially detrimental state-specific policies. He concluded by stating, “The last thing FERC needs is someone eager to impose the failed policies of Massachusetts upon the rest of the nation.”
The nominations of David Rosner, Lindsay S. See, and Judy W. Chang are currently under consideration by the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
