Acknowledging the recent threat posed by the Happy Jack Fire in Cheyenne, Senator Barrasso underscored the early onset of the fire season as a sobering reminder of the escalating wildfire crisis. He pointed out the urgent need for effective forest management to mitigate the unprecedented size and destructiveness of wildfires in Western states.

Senator Barrasso expressed concern over the increasing risk of wildfires, stating that federal forests urgently require better management to prevent further destruction.
