The Moncrief Cancer Institute is providing free blood tests to screen for prostate cancer for men ages 40 to 69 who are uninsured.
The screenings are available through Moncrief’s Mobile Screening Clinic, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20 at Bob Duncan Center, 2800 S. Center St., in Arlington. Men may call 817-288-9970 to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also accepted.
About 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. Prostate cancer has a high cure rate if caught early, and the key to early detection is screening as there are no signs of early prostate cancer.
Moncrief Cancer Institute is a nonprofit, early detection and cancer support center that works to fight cancer and reduce its impact. It provides cancer screenings for women and men who are uninsured and qualify. Moncrief is a part of UT Southwestern and offers an exceptional level of academic medical expertise in cancer services.
