Town launches Program to Assist Renters and Homeowners $1,000,000 in federal funding will support households in need. Eligible households may apply by April 13.

Arlington recently issued the following announcement.

The Town of Arlington is pleased to announce the Arlington Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund. 

This program provides rental and mortgage assistance to Arlington households that have been impacted by the economic instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The assistance program is funded through $1,000,000 of the Town’s allocation from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Additional information about the program is available at www.arlingtonma.gov/ARPA.

The Arlington Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund is open to Arlington households that rent or own their home. Households at all income levels that can demonstrate current or previous inability or difficulty paying rent or mortgage due to COVID-19 are eligible to apply.

The program provides assistance up to $2,500 per month, payable to the household’s landlord or mortgage loan servicer. Households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income may receive up to four months of assistance, while households earning over 80% of the Area Median Income are eligible for up to two months of support. To determine the number of months you may be eligible to receive, please review the table below.
