Senator Cynthia Lummis, who represents Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, addressed several topics on her Twitter account on August 2, 2025. Her posts included criticism of the Federal Reserve’s oversight process, a birthday greeting to Vice President J.D. Vance, and information about an upcoming fee-free day at national parks.

In a post questioning institutional accountability, Senator Lummis wrote on August 2: “Everyone should question the findings of the Fed’s Inspector General when the IG is hired by their boss.”

Later that day, she acknowledged Vice President J.D. Vance’s birthday with a public message: “Happy birthday to my friend, Vice President @JDVance. Cheers!” (August 2).

On the same date, Senator Lummis highlighted an event marking the anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act. She posted: “August 4 is the anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act, and @Interior is honoring the occasion with a fee-free day at all National Parks and National Monuments. Wyoming’s Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Devils Tower are all included. https://t.co/GxYxqrVLHZ” (August 2).

The Federal Reserve’s Office of Inspector General operates as an independent office within the Federal Reserve System but its head is appointed by the Chair of the Board of Governors. This appointment structure has been criticized by some lawmakers for potential conflicts of interest.

The Great American Outdoors Act was enacted in August 2020 to provide permanent funding for public lands maintenance and conservation efforts across the United States.
