Senator Cynthia Lummis, representing Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, recently used her social media platform to highlight achievements and express gratitude toward educators and public servants across the state.
On October 5, 2025, Senator Lummis marked World Teachers Day by acknowledging teachers throughout Wyoming. She posted, “Happy World Teachers Day to our outstanding educators across the Cowboy State! I am incredibly grateful for your continued commitment to Wyoming’s future leaders.”
Later that day, she recognized a local leader in recreation. In a post dated October 5, 2025, Lummis wrote, “Congratulations to Green River Parks and Recreation Director Katie Duncombe on receiving the Wyoming Recreation and Parks Association Fellow Award. Thank you for your service and dedication to the Cowboy State!” The Wyoming Recreation and Parks Association Fellow Award is given annually to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and service in parks and recreation management within the state.
The following day, October 6, 2025, Senator Lummis highlighted an individual educator’s achievement. She shared her experience meeting Morgan Hahn with a post: “Enjoyed meeting Morgan Hahn, Wyoming’s 2025 Teacher of the Year! Morgan grew up in Douglas and now teaches high school social studies at Lander Valley High School in Fremont County. Well done, Morgan – thank you for consistently going the extra mile for our students’ success.” The Teacher of the Year program recognizes outstanding educators who have made significant contributions to their schools and communities.
Senator Lummis has served as one of Wyoming’s U.S. Senators since 2021 after previously holding other public offices within the state.
