Senator Cynthia Lummis, who represents Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, shared a series of posts on her social media accounts highlighting recent events and legislative efforts relevant to her state.
On July 26, 2025, Senator Lummis marked a cultural celebration by stating, “Today we celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy. Cowboys and cowgirls are the embodiment of the western spirit, and Wyoming is proud to be known as the ‘Cowboy State.'”

Later that same day, Senator Lummis announced new legislation aimed at improving infrastructure in Wyoming. She wrote, “I introduced the SPEED Act with @SenJohnBarrasso and @RepHageman to streamline permitting reform for critical Wyoming highway projects. The Cowboy State relies on our roads, and I am proud to support legislation to accelerate project delivery across Wyoming.”
Wyoming is often referred to as “The Cowboy State,” reflecting its deep historical ties to ranching culture and western traditions. Additionally, the state’s significant reserves of coal, natural gas, uranium, and wind resources have positioned it as an important contributor to U.S. energy production. In recent years, lawmakers from Wyoming have prioritized both maintaining these traditions and advancing infrastructure projects intended to support economic growth and connectivity throughout rural communities.
