Senator Cynthia Lummis, representing Wyoming, shared a series of posts on her Twitter account in May 2026 addressing digital assets legislation and regulatory approaches in Washington.
On May 12, 2026, Senator Lummis commented on recent developments regarding digital assets, stating, “Big week for digital assets. After nearly a year of bipartisan work, this markup brings us one step closer to cementing America’s place as the global leader in financial innovation. Wyoming showed the way, now Washington is following.”
The following day, on May 13, 2026, she responded to an unspecified event with the statement: “Sadly, this does not shock me in the slightest.”
Later that same day, Senator Lummis addressed federal regulations and environmental policy: “For years, Washington piled on ridiculous regulations that hurt working Americans without meaningfully protecting the environment. The Trump administration has ended that failed and costly approach.”
Senator Lummis grew up on a cattle ranch in Laramie County and operated family ranches with her siblings. She earned degrees in animal science, biology and law from the University of Wyoming (official website). Over her career she has championed responsible federal budgeting and advocated for multiple-use public lands as well as Wyoming’s energy and mineral resources. Her public service includes time in both chambers of the Wyoming legislature, service as state treasurer and representation in the U.S. House of Representatives (official website).
