Senator Cynthia Lummis, who represents Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, recently addressed a range of topics on her social media account, including religious observances, veterans’ recognition, and federal government funding.
On October 1, 2025, Senator Lummis extended greetings to Jewish communities in her state for Yom Kippur. She wrote, “Wishing our Jewish communities in Wyoming a meaningful Yom Kippur filled with peace and renewal.”
The following day, she highlighted an event honoring military service members from Wyoming. In her post dated October 2, 2025, she stated, “Wyoming veterans traveled to Washington on a High Plains Honor Flight to celebrate and honor their service to our country. My staff was grateful to attend the wonderful send-off ceremony and honor these heroes.” The High Plains Honor Flight is part of a national network that transports veterans to Washington D.C. to visit memorials dedicated to their service.
Later on October 2, Senator Lummis commented on the recent federal government shutdown. She posted, “Democrats shut down the government because they would rather give nearly $200 billion to illegal immigrants than put America first.” Government shutdowns occur when Congress fails to pass appropriations bills or continuing resolutions necessary for funding federal agencies.
Senator Lummis has served as Wyoming’s junior senator since 2021 and is known for her advocacy on behalf of veterans and conservative fiscal policies.
