Senator Cynthia Lummis, representing Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of tweets on November 5 and 6, 2025, addressing government shutdown issues and alleging surveillance by federal authorities.

On November 5, Lummis wrote, “SBR is the way.” at 20:29 UTC.

Later that day at 22:01 UTC, she commented on legislative actions regarding the ongoing government shutdown, stating, “Senate Republicans have voted 14 times to reopen the government. These are the consequences of the Schumer Shutdown.”

In a tweet posted on November 6 at 00:12 UTC, Lummis alleged misconduct by federal agencies: “My Republican colleagues & I were spied on by the Biden FBI for supporting President Trump. Arctic Frost scaled the highest levels of government and completely disregarded the separation of powers. The Biden admin knew this was wrong, and violated the Constitution anyway.”

Senator Lummis has been an outspoken member of Congress from Wyoming since her election to the Senate in 2020. The term “Schumer Shutdown,” referenced in her tweet, is used by some Republican lawmakers to describe recent lapses in federal funding attributed to disagreements between Democratic and Republican leadership over budget priorities.

The mention of “Arctic Frost” refers to a reported intelligence operation that has drawn scrutiny from lawmakers over its legality and oversight procedures.
