Senator Cynthia Lummis, representing Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, posted several statements on July 24, 2025, addressing both military appointments and her views on Federal Reserve leadership.

In one post, Lummis congratulated a Wyoming native on his new federal role: “Congrats to Hulett, Wyoming’s Matthew Lohmeier and family as he is confirmed by the US Senate to be Under Secretary of the US Air Force!” (July 24, 2025).

Shortly after, Senator Lummis criticized Federal Reserve Chair Jay Powell and the institution’s direction. She wrote: “Jay Powell and the Fed certainly have their hands full. Between Operation Chokepoint 2.0 and building their Palace of Versailles, the Fed also found time to promote woke ideology. Powoke needs to go.” (July 24, 2025).

Later that day she added: “Jay Powell went woke and the United States went broke.” (July 24, 2025).

Matthew Lohmeier’s confirmation as Under Secretary of the Air Force marks a significant appointment for both him and Wyoming; this role oversees various administrative aspects of Air Force operations. Senator Lummis has been an advocate for military interests in her state.

The senator’s criticism of Jay Powell reflects ongoing debates regarding Federal Reserve policy and recent cultural controversies within major institutions. The reference to “Operation Chokepoint 2.0” alludes to concerns among some lawmakers about regulatory actions affecting certain sectors’ access to banking services.
