Senator Cynthia Lummis, who represents Wyoming in the U.S. Senate, recently made several statements on her official Twitter account addressing ongoing political developments and local community achievements.
On October 20, 2025, Lummis commented on the ongoing government shutdown, stating, “Today is Day 20 of the government shutdown, and Democrats will have their eleventh opportunity to vote for the clean, bipartisan CR. Every vote against the CR is a vote against American workers, small businesses, and families.” The continuing shutdown marks a significant disruption in federal operations, as lawmakers remain divided over passing a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government.
Later that day, Lummis congratulated a local religious leader from Cheyenne, posting, “Congrats to Cheyenne’s Rev. McClendon on receiving the 2025 Community Spirit Award. After 38 yrs of preaching across the US, Rev. McClendon retired in 2018, but continues serving the Cheyenne community. Thank you for your commitment to the Cowboy State!” Rev. McClendon is recognized for his decades of service and ongoing contributions to his community even after retirement.
On October 21, 2025, Lummis addressed concerns about federal investigations involving members of Congress, writing, “At this point it would be easier to put together a list of Republican Senators who the Biden FBI did not target and spy on. Make no mistake: this is an unconstitutional and unprecedented attack on the separation of powers and the legislative branch.” Her remarks reflect ongoing tensions between some members of Congress and federal law enforcement agencies regarding oversight and investigations.
Senator Lummis has served as Wyoming’s U.S. Senator since 2021 and has been an active voice on issues ranging from federal spending negotiations to local recognitions in her home state.
