Sen. John Barrasso, U.S. Senator representing Wyoming, recently shared updates on legislative developments and military activities through a series of posts on his social media account.

On August 19, 2025, Barrasso announced the passage of the ORPHAN Cures Act, stating, “We should be making it as easy as possible to develop and access new cures and treatments for Americans affected by rare diseases. My ORPHAN Cures Act does just that. Now that it’s law, millions of Americans have renewed hope.”

Two days later, on August 21, Barrasso highlighted a military training event at Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center: “Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center hosted the 3rd annual ARROW exercise. I appreciated spending time with active-duty USAF Airmen during this critical military assessment. Great to see F.E. Warren Airmen in action, showcasing their skill and dedication to a no-fail mission.”

Later that day, he addressed tax policy changes impacting essential workers: “There are NO TAXES ON OVERTIME thanks to the Big Beautiful Bill. This puts an extra $1,400 back into the paychecks of nurses, firefighters, and police officers.”

The ORPHAN Cures Act is part of ongoing efforts in Congress to accelerate drug development for rare diseases by reducing regulatory barriers and encouraging pharmaceutical innovation. Military exercises like ARROW at Camp Guernsey serve to maintain operational readiness among U.S. Air Force personnel and allied forces in strategic locations such as Wyoming’s F.E. Warren Air Force Base. The referenced “Big Beautiful Bill” follows a trend in recent legislative sessions aimed at increasing take-home pay for frontline workers by eliminating taxes on overtime income.
