Sen. John Barrasso, U.S. Senator from Wyoming and member of the Senate Republican leadership, used his social media account to comment on recent legislative developments and the appropriations process in Congress.

On July 21, 2025, Barrasso expressed appreciation for the President’s efforts regarding a major legislative initiative, stating, “Thank you @POTUS for hosting @SenateGOP at the @WhiteHouse this weekend and for your work to see the One Big Beautiful Bill across the finish line. This bill delivers on our promise to deliver safety and prosperity for the American people.”

The following day, Barrasso addressed the appropriations process in Congress. On July 22, 2025, he wrote, “Last year, the Appropriations Committee passed 11 of 12 bipartisan appropriations bills. Chuck Schumer brought NONE of them to the floor for a vote. @SenateGOP is beginning the appropriations process the right way.”

Later that same day, Barrasso commented on a bill related to veterans healthcare and military readiness: “This bill to fund veterans healthcare and military readiness should unite us – not divide us. This is an opportunity to return to real governing. This is an opportunity to restore trust in this institution and the work that we do here.”

The annual appropriations process determines federal funding levels for government agencies and programs. In recent years, disagreements between party leaders have led to delays or impasses over passing these bills.
