Sen. John Barrasso, U.S. Senator from Wyoming and Senate Republican whip, used Tax Day to highlight recent tax policy changes and their impact on American families in a series of social media posts.
On April 15, 2026, Barrasso stated: “This Tax Day I can say the American people have more money in their pockets because Republican’s passed the Working Families @TaxCuts.
Republicans will continue to fight for an America where families get to keep more of what they earn and make the decisions of how to spend it.”
Later that day, he shared experiences from meetings across his state: “Across Wyoming I sat down with veterans, students, farmers, & small business owners. We talked about the new opportunities they now have since @SenateGOP cut taxes.
These families aren’t alone.
Americans across the country are seeing smaller tax bills and bigger tax refunds.” (April 15, 2026).
Barrasso also described a gathering focused on community service organizations: “At today’s Wyoming Wednesday, @SenLummis, @RepHageman and I heard from folks from all over the Cowboy State, including leaders from @AARPWY, @4hWyoming, and the Wyoming Mortgage Lenders Association. They are all doing important work to serve and strengthen communities across” (April 15, 2026).
Barrasso resides in Casper with his three children and operates multiple offices throughout Wyoming—including locations in Casper, Cheyenne, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan—and Washington D.C., serving constituents statewide according to his official website. He chairs the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee’s Public Lands, Forests and Mining Subcommittee. His legislative priorities include supporting energy affordability policies that benefit ranchers as well as promoting economic opportunity for Wyoming residents.
