Sen. John Barrasso, U.S. Senator representing Wyoming, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing economic policy, government spending, and energy development in mid-July 2025.
The following day, he criticized Democratic priorities for foreign aid: “Democrats want you to believe that that vegan food programs, electric busses in Rwanda, and media training in Liberia are critical foreign aid priorities keeping China and Russia at bay. The truth? Democrats have a long history of wasting taxpayer dollars.”
Later on July 15, Barrasso highlighted an event involving Wyoming’s congressional delegation and Secretary Wright from the Department of Energy: “The Wyoming delegation was proud to host @ENERGY @SecretaryWright in Wyoming on Friday for the groundbreaking of Ramaco’s Brook Mine – the first rare earth elements mine in 70 years and first coal mine in Wyoming in 50 years. Mining our own critical minerals will help safely and”.
Barrasso has been a vocal supporter of domestic energy production and critical mineral mining initiatives. The referenced groundbreaking ceremony marks a significant development for Wyoming’s mining sector—the Brook Mine project represents both a revival of coal mining after decades-long dormancy and an expansion into rare earth element extraction not seen nationally for seventy years.
His comments on economic indicators reflect broader national trends where inflation rates have fluctuated over recent years while partisan debates continue regarding fiscal responsibility and government spending priorities.
