Sen. John Barrasso, U.S. Senator from Wyoming, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account on July 24 and 25, 2025, addressing judicial nominations and responding to tragic news affecting the military community.

On July 24, 2025, Barrasso commented on the nomination of Mr. Bove to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals: “By any objective, Mr. Bove is a qualified nominee for the third circuit court of appeals. But because he worked for President @realDonaldTrump, he’s now the target of a politically motivated hit job.”

Later that day, Barrasso addressed an incident involving F.E. Warren Air Force Base: “This is tragic news. My prayers are with the Mighty Ninety team and the entire F.E. Warren Air Force Base community.” F.E. Warren Air Force Base is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming and is home to the 90th Missile Wing—known as “The Mighty Ninety.” The base plays a key role in national defense by maintaining intercontinental ballistic missiles.

On July 25, 2025, Barrasso further discussed Senate confirmations: “.@SenateGOP has confirmed over 100 of President @realDonaldTrump’s qualified nominees. Democrats seem to have a new litmus test, though. If President Trump nominates you, Democrats are against you.” This statement reflects ongoing partisan tensions surrounding federal judicial nominations.

The confirmation process for federal judges has become increasingly contentious in recent years, particularly when nominees have ties to former presidents or are perceived as ideologically aligned with one party.
