City of Rawlins recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Rawlins is proud to announce the selection of our City’s new finance director, Tom Sarvey. He starts today.

City Manager Shawn Metcalf said “I am very excited to welcome Tom to the City of Rawlins! Tom is a true team player with a warm and friendly demeanor. I am really impressed with the way Tom plans to collaborate with department heads and City Council. Tom is a native of Wyoming and has worked in Wyoming throughout his career. He brings a wealth of experience in a variety of finance settings, including local government, healthcare, and education. Tom has plans for the City that I believe will elevate us to heights we have not seen before. Please join me in welcoming Tom and his wonderful family to the community!”

Sarvey was most recently the Business Manager for Johnson County School District No. 1. This includes supervising the financial and other business aspects of the district, including the budget, audit, inventory, and financial statements. He has also worked as the Park County School No. 6 Business Manager, as the Controller for the West Park Hospital District, and as a City Accountant of the City of Casper. He has a Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Wyoming and is a Wyoming-licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant).

Sarvey said “I am excited to begin my new position as finance director for the City of Rawlins.  I am a loyal Wyomingite and love all recreational opportunities that the Rawlins area affords.  A large part of my decision to accept this opportunity is the people I met through the recruitment process.  I am very impressed with the direction and the progress of the City of Rawlins, the forward thinking of the City Manager, and the organization’s investment in human capital.  My family and I are looking forward to our new adventure in the City of Rawlins!”
