Harriet Hageman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wyoming’s at-large district since 2023, shared insights through her social media posts on June 4, 2025. Hageman addressed issues concerning national security and fiscal responsibility.
On June 4, 2025, Harriet Hageman reported an incident involving “Two Chinese nationals caught smuggling a potential agroterrorism weapon, a toxic fungus that threatens America’s food supply, into our country.” She emphasized the severity of the situation by stating it is “not just criminal,” but “an attack on U.S. agriculture.” In response to this threat, she urged for measures to “secure American institutions from being weaponized by the CCP.”
Later that day, Hageman commented on a recent legislative development. She mentioned receiving a recissions package aimed at cutting over $9 billion in what she described as wasteful spending. According to her post “The recissions package Congress just received cuts over $9 billion in wasteful spending.” This package is noted for eliminating funds from USAID, NPR & PBS and includes provisions such as codifying DOGE cuts and delivering on President Biden’s mandate.
Hageman was born in Fort Laramie, Wyoming in 1962 and resides in Cheyenne. She completed both her Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Wyoming in 1989.
