Rep. Harriet Hageman, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wyoming’s at-large district, shared her views on recent legislative efforts and incidents of unrest through a series of tweets.

On June 6, 2025, Rep. Hageman expressed her support for the Visa Overstays Penalties Act. She stated, “The Visa Overstays Penalties Act is about restoring the rule of law and protecting American citizens. I’m proud to join @RepNateMoran in reintroducing this vital bill to ensure those who abuse our visa system face real consequences.” The legislation aims to reinforce penalties for individuals who overstay their visas.

In another tweet on June 9, 2025, Rep. Hageman addressed violent protests occurring in California targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She tweeted, “The riots in California targeting @ICEgov are a direct attack on law and order.” She emphasized the importance of prioritizing the safety of American citizens over what she described as “prioritizing criminals.”

Harriet Hageman was born in Fort Laramie, Wyoming in 1962 and currently resides in Cheyenne. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctor degree in 1989.
